As was stated above hon; They did not have the same half century societal wealth redistribution scam going on and the resultant wealth disparity gap that always leads to eventual social unrest. Automation alone is not the issue.

The previous half century had an even greater wealth disparity. That's what prompted unions.

Automation is inevitable now that we have machines capable of doing so much so quickly and so cheaply. Think logically. Why would anyone pay more for inferior products when they can pay less for better quality?

Robots don't have attitudes or get sloppy. They don't take sick days or go on strike. They just do the same thing over and over again, and do it very well.

All this means we are going to have to move past the current employment model, but the day of the low skilled, high paying career is over.

The day of an economically viable and healthy society is over.

I'm sure there were those who said the same thing when agriculture was being replaced by manufacturing and farm hands were watching their jobs be replaced by tractors.
