Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert Kennedy Jr. committed fraud against the U.S. Congress during his confirmation hearing by communicating to U.S. Senators that he would not undermine vaccines as the Secretary, he lead them to believe that his history of trying to stop vaccinations because of his belief they caused autism was in the past. Louisiana Republican Senator Bill Cassidy who is a Doctor was vital to Mr. Kennedy's confirmation he vouched for him on the vaccine issue based on Mr. Kennedy's representations I hope the Senator has the sense to realize Mr. Kennedy made a real sucker out of him and restore his reputation by calling on Mr. Kennedy to resign as Secretary because he broke his commitment to Senators concerned about this issue. The Senate should realize that what Mr. Kennedy has done is a terrible precedent the standard is now set that a nominee can tell and swear up and down to senators that he won't do "X" and then once confirmed and sworn in proceed and do "X", allowing Mr. Kennedy to get away with this eviscerates integrity in the nation's confirmation system!
Personally, I don't care if Robert Kennedy, Jr. wants to 24/7 advocate that vaccines cause autism, my view of Mr. Kennedy's decades long commentary on health public policy is that he is not that smart he is not to be trusted as an authority. On the other hand, I have a huge, Mt. Everest size, problem if Mr. Kennedy is running or managing the Department of HHS to deny or impede access to vaccines for the American people. Alarmingly that is what he is doing, this year's Covid booster vaccine is only approved for Americans 65 years of age and older and younger Americans with underling medical conditions that make them vulnerable to serious health problem and even death if they get Covid. I am under 65 and last year I got my Covid booster at CVS pharmacy like tens of thousands of other Americans but this year CVS isn't providing the Covid booster because of HHS actions. Wisdom and common sense till calls for Americans to get the Covid booster because people are still getting admitted to the hospital and dying from Covid not to mention "long Covid" (residual serious health problems)! To the American general public important questions remain: Is HHS very restrictive approval going to block people under 65 with no vulnerable health condition from getting the Covid booster this year, is it going to cause Health Insurance companies not to cover the vaccine shot this year? Congress needs to quickly pass legislation mandating general population availability and insurance coverage for the Covid booster because the uncontestable fact is that Americans will die and be left with serious long-term injury if this unavailable move by HHS is allowed to stand!
Many times but noteworthily recently Robert Kennedy's behavior clearly demonstrated he really is unqualified to be in this HHS position because he does not have the education and experience. HHS recently shut down $500 million of funding for MRNA vaccine research this type of research brought us the Covid vaccines. Mr. Kennedy's reasoning is that these type of vaccines don't stop upper respiratory infections and the viruses that these vaccines fight mutate and since a mRNA vaccine is tailored to a specific coronavirus it won't be effective against mutated virus. The fact that mRNA vaccines don't stop upper-respiratory infection doesn't mean they don't have extremely valuable utility. MRNA vaccines work by preparing one's immune system to produce antibodies that will fight and defeat a specific virus infection; it takes time when a person is infected with a virus for that person's body to produce these antibodies that is why people get a significant upper respiratory infection but the person's immune system after this initial period produces enough antibodies to wipe out the virus. On the mutation issue mRNA vaccines are not the sole reason why viruses mutate viral infections by their very nature produce a lot of replicated viruses and the replication process produces errors which we call mutations. The science since 2001 has shown that MRNA vaccines still have significant utility in fighting mutated viruses. They stop people from having to go into the hospital and help them recover quicker!
Can anyone tell the American people why Republican leadership T-up doing away with vaccines in America, it cannot be lower health insurance costs it is cheaper in the long run to pay for vaccines than to pay for hospital stays for sick insurance enrollees. Could it be that Republican leadership is on board with doing away with vaccines so that more elderly people will die every year so the Federal government will have a lower Social Security and Medicare bills both programs face imminent financial shortfalls. If this is the Republican leadership agenda their ruthlessness and character depravity is off the charts and is just another reason why the American people need to fix our Democracy with a dramatic constitution amendment process that produce term limits for members of Congress, drawing voting districts by algorithms based on geometric considerations and limit money coming into elections so the wealthy do not have undue influence in elections!
