Its pretty much meaningless at this point. The judge has obviously already decided the verdict and is interfering for the defense. The best that can be hoped for at this point is hung jury, although there's a slim possibility it could be declared a mistrial.

No one wants a hung jury or a mistrial. I doubt the prosecution wants to try this again. This is going to be a quick acquittal.
