I always paid attention when he was reporting. He knew his shit and was the ultimate pro. Plus he was smart enough to report from outside America.

Dickey was a freaking stooge of the CIA. As a reporter for WAPO, the CIA could plant mostly anti Reagan stories on Dickey and he became part of the international scene. I guess his credibility ran out at age 68 in Paris or maybe he might have been planning a tell all book.

Was "legendary" his birth name? Or is that just something stuck onto his name by leftist suck-ups to make him seem much more impressive than he actually was?

If he was an employee of the Washington Post that instantly makes him suspect to me.
