San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals play the first regular-season game today at the oldest professional ballpark in the country.

"Rickwood Field, having undergone millions of dollars’ worth of renovations while still maintaining its historical charm, is now ready to meet that moment."

Rev. Bill Greason, member of the Birmingham Black Barons (1948) and oldest living Negro League player, threw out the first pitch before the game. Interviewing him now. Played for the St. Louis Cardinals (first black pitcher for that team).
 
Heliot Ramos hits a homer for the San Francisco Giants. Tied game at 3-3, still top of the third inning.
 
Cards score a couple of runs and now lead 5-3 after three innings.

Reggie Jackson was interviewed during the inning.
 
They have switched to a Black and White screen like in the past. . Good to see these folks can still have fun.
 
Sixth Inning...

Giants score two to close the gap to 6-5 Cards.

Good Lord enough with the pandering. All wear #42, Black history month? Hispanic heritage month? LGBTQ month? Juneteenth? Black and Mexican caucuss in Congress. Does it ever bloody end!!
