RFKjr is going to approach health from the 'producer' side instead of the 'consumer' side of the problem. The companies and agencies will fight him at every step, while the citizenry will continue their chosen habits and lifestyles. It will be a wasted effort and opportunity. So sad. :(

ya messing with the "sugar" industry that uses "Roundup" could produce a real war here in idaho

RFK Jr, nor President Trump have any intention to dictate lifestyle to anybody and certainly not dictate their diets.

But consider this:

"Yellow 5, an artificial food dye found in processed pastries and soda, may harm cells over time and cause hyperactivity in children12. It has been linked to serious health complications including an increased https://www.healthline.com/health/video/yellow-5#1risk for cancer and worsened asthma in children2. Researchers found that it damages DNA and causes cell mutation."

"Based on scientific studies, Yellow 5, Red 40 and six others dyes found in many children's cereals, candy, pastries and other U.S. products are considered harmful and are banned in Norway, Austria, the U.K., Finland and France.

Popcorn is my guilty pleasure and I pop it in my trusty Whirly Pop popcorn popper several times a week--coconut oil, popcorn kernels and about a half teaspoon of Gold Medal Products "Flavacol" popcorn salt. Checked the ingredients in that Flavacol and sure enough. First ingredient: sodium chloride (table salt) and the second is Yellow Dye #5. The only purpose for the dye is to improve the appearance of the popped popcorn.

Yellow Dye #5 has been FDA approved since 1969. But if the stuff is actually harmful, and all evidence points to the fact that it is, wouldn't it be a good thing to get it out of our food supply? That wouldn't mean it couldn't be bought elsewhere or used by anybody who wants to use it. But the federal government does try to make our food supply safe as we the people either in the various states or individually do not that the resources to test and evaluate every component of our food to know what is harmful and what is not.

But they have a lot of work to do to get the hidden bad crap out of our food supply.

If our bad health is caused by "a thousand cuts" removing Yellow Dye #5, removes one cut.

That was one example. It was not intended to even suggest it would fix everything.
I would focus on something that would give better results. People are consuming too much Yellow Dye #5 because they are consuming too much food that contains Yellow Dye #5. A healthy immune system mitigates the harm from such substances, so the focus should be on maintaining a healthy immune system.

Prohibit the purchase of unhealthy food with SNAP card. Prohibit unhealthy food in schools. Huge start. Huge

But if a substance compromises a healthy immune system, then shouldn't the public be advised of that?

There's no evidence that Yellow Dye#5 harms the immune system. However, a weak immune system won't mitigate all the harm to the rest of the body that Yellow Dye#5 might cause.

What people need to know is that the body has very strict requirements for optimal health and what those requirements are.

Whatever the sequence, I do not want to put unnecessary substances into my body that can and most likely will harm me. Yellow Dye #5 is one of perhaps hundreds or thousands of additives put into processed foods and/or meds that Big Pharma or Big Business probably doesn't care about needless side effects unless they are successfully sued. The approval of the FDA makes it unlikely they are at much risk from that.

Then don't do that. It's your choice.

I am not okay with harmful toxins in the food supply that the FDA approves so millions of Americans believe they are okay? FDA approval should be like the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval assuring people that their food and medicine supply is as safe and healthy as possible.
