RFK confirmed.

Yellow Dye #5 is found in countless processed foods in America, most especially in kids' cereals and candies, and is pretty much banned everywhere but here because it has tested several times as a carcinogen. There are any number of substances like that food sellers are putting in their products here that Europe mostly does not allow.

It is high time somebody without a finger in the pie take a good hard look at that.

I would also like stronger laws so that we can trust low sodium, low fat, low or no added sugar products to actually be low sodium, low fat, no added sugar.

How can anybody with a brain have any objection to that?
Yellow Dye 5 is not banned "pretty much everywhere". It's legal throughout the EU. The only country that bans it is Norway.

I've found nothing that shows it's a carcinogen.

The law already requires the label to show exactly how much sodium, fat and sugar in a product. Just read the label.

Not true.

It's about harmful effects to ones health.

Which are radically different than the one's used in the US.

How about obesity, diabetes, cancer, for openers.
Obesity and diabetes are not caused by food dyes. It doesn't matter what dye you use in Mt Dew, if you drink a case of it every day, you're going to be in trouble.

Not that radically different. EU has lots of food dyes and additives that are allowed. Not sure what you mean by "food related disease". Can you be more specific?

Taking out additives doesn't make food more nutritious. We eat too much salt, saturated fats, refined sugars because they taste good. That's what's causing the problems. Not additives.
All of the complaints of the old ways and that order and you guys tell the other side who attacks it as you have not, that they are the wrong. A candidate ran who could bring all of this up. We have a chance to make a difference. You are supposed to work for us. In the end trust is important. And when people lose it on any person or group it is not good. And may not end well.

Pied Piper Trump's long term plan to lead his cult into the far left cave is nearly complete.

An extreme pro-abortionist, climate change activist, advocate for the legalization of all drugs, and general all-about-town conspiracy theorist on chemtrails, vaccines, assassinations, and no end of other whackadoo ideas, just got confirmed.

Only Mitch McConnell had the spine to tell Trump to fuck off. Every other Republican Senator donned their far left liberal hats and signed off on this quack with ZERO medical background running our nation's health care system.

There really is no belief too far to the left for the Trump cult to shrink back from.

It was about 80% coverage, you idiot.

Saying a group has an 80% vax rate when the other poster is insisting that they had a 30% rate is not a comment on herd immunity.

Over to scroll over for you. Get smarter and work harder, you lazy goof.
Yeah jackass. Why were they talking about the coverage if not to claim that 80% is adequate?

It’s not

Apparently Trump is so stupid, he could not find a pro-life conservative nominee with a medical background anywhere in America.

Imagine that.

So the poor doomed cult has to pretend batshit extreme liberal RFK, Jr. was a great idea. When it comes to Dear Leader, they have no choice. They dare not THINK for even two seconds.

That's the problem, those with what you want as FDA director are more often than not, compromised by Big Pharma.

Trump will probably want to rollback labeling too

Oh, goody. Another conspiracy theory.

So you are saying every conservative pro-life medical doctor is in the pocket of Big Pharma.

Therefore, it is a really good idea to pick an ignorant pro-abortionist, climate change activist.

No pro-lifers who aren't conspiracy nutsacks for the job can be found anywhere in a population of 320 million.

Huh!

RFK, Jr. is also a proponent of single payer health care, just as Trump is.

I suspect this is the real reason Trump picked him.

This isn’t a major cabinet position, but RFK is corrupt asshole

Wow. Even with a couple minutes to think, no one can come up with a pro-life, qualified conservative for the job.

This is how brain dead Trump has managed to achieve in his cult.

They are actually jizzing themselves over a far left pro-abortion, climate change activist, single payer advocate.

There is literally nothing they can do to stop themselves from following Trump to the far left.

Amazing.

Who decides if the information on the label is accurate? How much is that 'who' trustworthy to get it right or even care? Cigarettes once bragged that doctors agreed that this or that brand was their product of choice. How many times have you bitten on an advertisement and the product turned out not to be as advertised?

When it comes to our food supply we have to trust others that the food we buy and consume is safe to eat as few of us have the ability to produce our own food and therefore know how its purity and preparation is controlled.

I want somebody who cares about getting it right to be in charge of that and I believe RFK Jr is.

As for Yellow Dye #5 you may be correct that it is not banned in most of Europe but it is controlled and requires a warning label that the U.S. does not require.

". . .4. Red dye no. 40 and yellow food dyes no. 5 and no. 6
The food dyes, which can be found in candy, cereal, and condiments such as ketchup and mustard are not banned in Europe, but the EU does require the coloring agents to come with a warning label when sold in stores that says the dyes could cause "an adverse effect on activity and attention in children," Caryn Rabin writes. FDA, on the other hand, does not require a warning label for the food dyes. It does, however, mention on its website that yellow dye no. 5 can cause hives and itching. . ."

". . .Studies have linked Yellow 5 to problems including hyperactivity in children and genotoxicity, with researchers also linking the dye to carcinogenic contaminants. . .

. . .It's hard to pinpoint why the FDA has not banned Yellow 5 and other potentially harmful synthetic food dyes, or at least required more serious and noticeable warning labels. Experts describe a history that points to either a lack of motivation, a lack of resources, or a submission to lobbyists to leave the Yellow 5 and other dyes on the back burner."

And internet sources are also frequently suspect as here is a source saying Yellow Dye #5 IS banned in several European countries. Who do you believe and why?
