Interesting article, which i somewhat disagree with. The stock markets have clearly stalled and may be headed lower, but that doesn't prevent you from downsizing to a smaller house, downsizing to a less expensive college, living more simply, and maybe taking a more conservative approach with investing (ie going into cash for a while)

If you're Generation X, it is time to think outside of the box.

Yep, I'm with you.....I just ordered 45K worth of windows and doors and hired a sub for other home upgrades. Piss on "what the kids think".

I figured the wife and I might as well enjoy the upgrades now as my own are doing just fine on their own.

Believe it or not I've heard people talk about worrying about what their kids will think about what their parents (of sound mind) do with their money.

I don't owe them any explanations, and they get what's left when we are dead.
