Republicans Quietly Turning Over Texas And Other States To The Democrats

Why are 11 Republicans retiring before the 2020 election?

Troubling signs for House GOP as retirements mount ahead of 2020 elections

At least 4 House Representatives from Texas have announced they are retiring.

Longtime Texas Rep. Kenny Marchant's announcement Monday that he will not seek another term in Congress brings to 11 the number of House Republicans who plan to retire or seek another office in 2020 – a factor that could make it more difficult for the GOP to recapture the majority in next year's elections.

RETIRING GOP REP. HURD 'WANTS TO MAKE SURE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY LOOKS LIKE AMERICA'

The retirement announcement by Marchant – who is serving his eighth term in the House – comes just days after fellow Texan and House Republican Rep. Will Hurd rocked Capitol Hill by announcing he would not run for re-election. Hurd – the only African-American Republican in the House and a former CIA officer who was considered a rising star in the GOP – is a vocal critic of President Trump.

Meanwhile, just three House Democrats have announced plans to leave Congress.

Texas GOP Reps. Pete Olson and Mike Conaway also recently announced they will not run for re-election. Three of these four retiring GOP Texan lawmakers are in competitive districts that the Democrats now likely have a stronger shot of flipping next year.

Also retiring are two of the only 13 GOP women in the House: Reps. Martha Roby of Alabama and Susan Brooks of Indiana (who, despite her own retirement, heads up the National Republican Congressional Committee’s 2020 recruitment efforts.) By comparison, there are currently 89 female Democratic members in the House.

This is the best time for them to retire because the Troglocrats are floundering.
They are much more likely to replaced by another Republican.

True, but they have to retire eventually, and now would be a good time to do it while the GOP is popular.

Marchant like Hurd was in a suburban district. His margin dropped from 16 in 2016 to 3 in 2018. Clearly 2020 was shaping up to be closer to 2018 rather than 2016. Republicans are in big trouble in the suburbs.

This is shaping up like 2016 when Dems kept telling us about polls showing they were going to win.

Or 2018 when the polls told us Democrats were going to win and they did.

If you haven't noticed.....alot of them are pretty young and yet many of the Dems are in their 70s and 80s. You have take them out of the Capital on a gurney.

As far as I'm concerned those are all weak RINO turds. Hopefully they're replaced with anti-collectivists and the DNC nominates a lunatic like Bernie or the bitch with the crystals.

Democrats believe that population replacement in Texas has been successful. Maybe it has. They entire democrat plan is to replace Americans with compliant savages who don't care what politicians do. As long as they can rob, kill and rape the democrats have a reliable vote.

Thanks for showing us your true colors as a white supremacist. The reason that the Republicans are in trouble in Texas is because of suburban voters. Clinton won 3 Republican suburban congressional districts in 2016. In 2018, Democrats picked up 2 and narrowly lost the third. Also 3 more Republicans narrowly won their races. Urban areas and suburban areas make up over 80% of Texas voters. That is trouble for Republicans.

It's not lefties worry about it, it's you damned righties.

Yeah.......we're shooting people all over the place....but only in your demented minds.

Every time you fuckers try to tell us a Rightwinger did the shooting it turns out to be a Satan-worshiping Liz Warren or Bernie Sanders fan.

Arizona and Texas are purple shifting to blue. That is the reality, we just saw a far Left unknown Socialist defeat a Conservative war hero in Arizona for the Senate.

That in Arizona was pure fraud. Now it may be true that democrats have perfected fraud to such a degree that they can't lose any election. The result of the tyranny of imposed political leaders will only be more and more street violence.

When you get what you want, you won't like what you get. People don't cotton to being work slaves for long.

Republicans boasted about people moving to Texas. Now that people have moved to Texas, Republicans are crying that their Texas is being taken.

Will these snowflakes ever stop whining?

Rep Ken Marchant won by 17 points in 2016. He won by 3 in 2018. That had nothing to do with immigration. Suburban voters are abandoning Republicans in droves.

She is not far left. She is moderate. It was the Republican who voted like a far right Trump loon and enough voters rejected that as they voted for a Republican for Governor and a Democrat for Senate.
