The clear indication is that the House Republicans will cause a government shutdown by not passing a budget to keep the Federal Government funded for the new fiscal year beginning October 1. This will be a truly huge mistake that the Republican Party will pay dearly for in upcoming elections because the American people will rightly believe that they do not have the grounds or good reasons to shutdown the government. Republicans contention that excessive government spending justifies it does not make the cut, it is true Washington is spending too much but the Republicans should have fought this spending war over the budget but you the Republican Party chose to fight it over the Debt Ceiling issue a few months back contrary to what an abundance of Americans told you do, including this writer, which would have allowed you to get a better deal but Republican arrogance prevailed. Back with this Debt Ceiling matter the Republican Party made a deal on the 2024 budget what the spending level would be, the Republican Party is expected to honor it. Ordinary Americans are going to be justly angry with the Republican Party shutting down the government this year because the spending level restraints aren't good enough for the Republican caucus, America is a Democracy political parties often don't get everything they want they have to be responsible and accept that; the American people are not going to take being traumatized twice this year by the Republicans with the Debt Ceiling issue and now with the Government Funding issue. Ordinary Americans will conclude from another Republican orchestrated crisis that the Republican Party is an extremist Party that cannot be trusted to govern the nation and won't give them the reins of power in Washington in upcoming elections. Republicans are so arrogant they don't learn from history this is 2013 all over again when they shut down the government because they wanted the Budget to include provisions delaying and/or defunding the Affordable Care Act; the shutdown lasted over two weeks and the American people back then rightly perceived the Republican Party didn't have justification for the shutdown and penalized them in future elections!
The Republican Party today is so devoid of wisdom they should have picked the battle over the Budget and not the Debt Ceiling they would have gotten a better deal. There is so many areas Republicans could have helped the country's finances but they threw away their leverage choosing the Debt Ceiling issue to go to war over. One area they could have got something which I think is scandalous is the Biden legislation that is giving money to companies that build a stationary plant that takes Carbon Dioxide out of the Ocean what an incredible waste of money; CO2 that causes global warming is the CO2 that makes it to the upper atmosphere where it traps heat in the atmosphere not CO2 in the ocean the Federal government is acting like complete idiots funding this industry. Republicans could have made headway dialing back all this Biden Administration effort protecting the climate where there is a condition to buy American; ether the Democrats want to maximally protect the climate or maximally create jobs for Americans, practically it is impossible to do both God himself couldn't do both! For example, one way to get America off fossil fuel power generation is to build windmills off America's coast that generate electricity; major wind energy businesses have either scrapped or are planning to scrap major off-shore wind power projects because of Democrat Buy American Parts conditions on such projects are obstructing the projects where the proponents cannot get the parts in time or it has cost the price of the parts to go so high the project doesn't make economic sense. There is a lot of accomplishment like that just mentioned that Republicans could have achieved if they had just chosen the Federal Budget path instead of the Debt Ceiling path! Some people have to learn the hard way, it looks like House Republicans are such people!
