It’s about time accessories such as suppressors, not the falsely labeled ‘silencers’ were removed from restrictions and taxes as a National Firearms Act restricted item.

Unfortunately, I live in a leftist controlled state so I suspect that even removal as an NFA restricted item will not change the ban on such items in my state.

In a lot of countries, owning guns isn't exactly easy. However, they do make it pretty easy for those who do own them to also have suppressors for them. They're viewed as safety devices, ways to not just reduce potential damage to the shooter's hearing, but also to keep from disturbing those who live near the gun range.

About time.....They are too damn expensive for what they are anyway, then you have to jump through hoops and pay Uncle Sugar $200.00 for the "privilege" of buying something that in many countries are in a clamshell package on a rack like so many sunglasses.

Took me over a year to get mine....and I live in TN.

Killer! I have several, and I make them.

My first one was 10 months......It's a lot quicker now.

I got a Form 4 on a short-barreled shotgun back in less than a week.

Still and all it galls me to even have to bother.
I can't remember all of the charges.....but it was around $1000.00.

I ordered it back in 2020 and I finally got it in 2022.

Silencer Central.

Much the same with two older brothers, both active mil. 13 month wait time with the silencer central kiosk and their simple trust form.

Do you sell them?
No. My uncle, over by Tulsa, makes his suppressors and rifles, (he does have a license) He has taught me much about being a survivalist. He is a Marine vet who served during Nam; He is half German and half Indian he also taught me hunting and fishing skills while growing up.

John Rambo was half German and half Native-American.

My uncle is from the Delaware tribe. When I first saw that movie, it reminded me of my uncle.
Rambo is one of the reasons I went SF.
Turns out a lot of Rambo is BS.
Most SF guys usually can't fly a chopper.
If they can, they probably went to flight school on their own.
Army pilots aren't SF qualified, but they support the teams.
Our support unit was 160th Aviation Nightstalkers.

Many silencers are junk....they don't hold up to any kind of use and considering the price of some of them.....exorbitantly priced.

However.....hobby machinists can have a field day making these things again. Instead of going to jail for making them when discovered.

I never owned one because they are expensive and you first have to buy the expensive gun that accepts a suppressor. Then the license....then finally the suppressor itself. And then somehow feel good about the large pile of money spent for an accessory that has less than $5 worth of materials involved. (Which I possibly might use once or twice a year when target practicing then deer hunting)

Cleaning a suppressor appears to also be another nightmare. Again....I got other things to do with my time but for others....hey, who am I to tell them what to do?

So, it will be good if these are deregulated. They don't regulate optics for rifles and handguns. Why should they regulate suppressors?

The govt over reach is insane in this.

A skilled machinist can create a garage suppressor.
And the machinist is also subject to NFA violations for a garage suppressor.

Think "solvent traps".

It's not the $200 tax that bothers me. It's giving up your right of search
