Forget gaining a majority in the Senate. Or expanding seats in the House. Even gaining more governorships is not as important. It is in the state legislatures where the biggest changes can come. They control the mapping of voting districts which can determine far into the future which party has the edge.
And this doesn't even consider how many city and county boards and commissions were affected.
