I picked this Rem. #4 Rolling Block up this morning.....I gave $225.00 for it.
They were made from 1890 to around 1933. Serial number records have long been lost to time (and a fire) so you have to go by features to date them.
This one has a take-down lever instead of the later screw so it was made some time between 1901 and 1926. I'd say the lower end of that because it's chambered in .22 Long and .22 short.....Not .22 LR.
The bore was leaded-up some but cleaned-up nicely. The stock has no cracks and the metal has a nice even blued going to brown patina.
