Every Fall my dad would roll-out the bias snow tires and put them on whatever car we had at the time.
Of course they would already be mounted on rims.
Anyone else remember doing that?

We just let the cars sit under cover and use the 4X4 PU till the roads are OK.Ya sure, we swapped out the "summer" tires for "winter" tires every year. But then again I'm from upstate New York near Lake Champlain and we had real snow.
Down here they really don't make sense for the limited snow we get here in Virginia.
The smartest thing to do if snow and ice are coming is stock up, then keep you car in the driveway as Virginians don't really do snow/ice driving very well. So your driveway is the safe way to handle it.

It was always fun to see the double ruts in the concrete in the spring. Can still get studded snow tires in a lot of states.
I lived in many places that without dedicated snow tires with lake effect snow you are a moron![]()

I use the Nokian ATP all-weather truck tire, smooth as glass but snowflake ratedI always run good AT3 tires on my truck year round.
Great in any weather. Semi aggressive tread, but still fairly quiet on the pavement.
I remember snow tires for our 76 Cutlass back in the day. That one wheel wonder, no posi, sucked in winter even with the snow tires.
Seemed like back then we were always helping push cars out of the snowbanks.
The Goodyear Wrangler has AT truck tires with Kevlar. Liked how they ran on a Jeep I used to own.I use the Nokian ATP all-weather truck tire, smooth as glass but snowflake rated
it also has aramid fiber sidewalls, basically kevlar for puncture resistance and abrasion
Their AT truck tire which looks like a refined BF K03 has kevlar all around
their patented wear bar you can see is awesome, you can clearly see wear
and if you have any suspension or alignment issue
People in Finland are freaking smart.....
