We don't live in a country where you can be anything, if you are poor and minority.

As an example, my father was poor and a minority (a teen during the Holocaust which took his grandmother, aunt, uncle, and four cousins), and he wanted to be a professional that required a college education. He studied hard, got a tuition-free education, and went from a tenement slum as a college kid to home ownership in the suburbs in exactly 7 years.

Again, proving it's nice to be white in this country. When my grandparents moved here from Germany, they lived in a house that was smaller than my Condo, and have five people living in it.

But again, nice to be white. Dad got a nice union job and was able to move up in the world. There weren't laws preventing him from marrying an American woman (which he did), or moving into a better neighborhood (which he did), or walking around at night in the wrong neighborhood (which he sometimes did.)

You missed my point entirely. I've had the advantage of growing up white in this country. That means my entire life, banks, the police, the education system, employers treated me differently.

Did I miss out on one or two opportunities because of Affirmative Action? Sure. Did I get a lot more due to white privilege? You betcha.
