Do you think any of these classics should be remade or rebooted?

Or should they be left as the masterpieces they are?

back to the future using a cyber truck,,

The only movie I have ever had any interest in for Hollywood to update, is "Logan's Run."
They talked about it for years, but it seems, no one with any clout would/could back it.

Warner Bros.' Logan's Run Remake Is Probably Never Going to Happen
". . . .But is it? We reached out to Warner Bros. multiple times over the course of working on this story, and we never got confirmation whether Logan’s Run was still being worked on. The writer and director haven’t said anything, the studio hasn’t said anything, and the person who spent years fighting for this movie is hardly in the picture anymore (other than a producer credit). Logan’s Run has spent all the time waiting and, as far as we know, could end up waiting forever. But maybe it’s not all bad. Perhaps it’s luxuriating behind the scenes in an utopian paradise, feeding on grapes and hoping for the day it will finally come to fruition. But here’s the thing: the fight for a new Logan’s Run is 21 years old now. And we all know what happens when someone reaches that age."

. . . we are very close to a Logan's Run type world now, and I don't think they will ever make this flick again.

Hollywood rarely makes dystopian commentary on the insanity of the ruling elite's folly's.

Aside from some better set designs and CGI a few things, there's nothing different they could really do to make this any better than it was.

This is mostly a true statement, but here is the thing.

When a movie shows its age, and is clearly dated, folks from new generations don't have a lot of interest in viewing them.

The film medium and techniques used, the sets, the sound & lighting, the musical score, etc. . . All of it has to do with how viewable it is to very picky viewers.

(As an example)
When DVDs and BlueRays first came out, sure, I could see the clear superiority to Betamax and VHS. . . but I didn't care that much. The movies were entertaining regardless of their platform or production qualities. Most folks didn't feel the same.

There is sort of the same thing that goes on here.

For example, most older folks that are real Star Trek fans, like the original cast and stories best. This isn't the case for younger trekkies I believe. Mostly, it has to do with the sets and amount of money put into the series.

Some folks care, others, not so much.

True to some extent. Some movies overshadow those things though. Like The Wizard Of Oz, Gone With the Wind, etc...

Other movies, such as scifi only have the tech aspect of being defined by the era they were made in. But Logans Run has general tech, nothing too specific that would confine it to any certain era.

SciFi also has the distinction of being a "what if" movie, which also gives them a certain advantage of not being defined by the era they were made in, even if it is obvious what era they were made.

So Logans Run has general tech, fantasy tech, and the "what if" factor. So theres really nothing they could improve on, except a few special effects. If they messed with the script, it would ruin the whole movie, as it was pretty on point and any variation would make it a bad B movie.

I would like to see a remake of the Wizard of Oz

The only films on the list that I have seen are Back To The Future, The Wizard Of Oz, E.T., and The Birds. I only saw those last two films once. To me, all films should just be left as they are no matter how successful they are or aren't. If a continuation is to be done at some point, the original actors in my opinion should be who play the characters.

God bless you always!!!
