The oceans is full of mysteries. A massive 95% of the world’s oceans have yet to be explored. There are thousands of these deep sea creatures yet to be classified by scientists. However, what is known is that the deep sea can be very terrifying. Here are some of the rarest creatures found in the sea.

Frilled Shark
The frilled shark is a strange, prehistoric-looking shark that usually lives thousands of meters below the surface in the deepest corners of the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean. Frilled sharks look a bit like underwater snakes. Its long, cylindrical body reaches lengths of nearly 2 m, and its fins are placed far back on the body. Frilled sharks like to eat fish, squid, octopus and smaller sharks.

Dumbo Octopus
The Dumbo octopus is the deepest-living genus of all known octopuses. It lives at least 4,000 m below the surface. Unlike most octopuses, the Dumbo octopus doesn’t have an ink sac because it rarely encounters predators in the deep sea. The average life span of this species is 3 to 5 years.
