Music to my ears, but "massive" pay cut? When you're making $30 million, and they cut it to $25, it doesn't seem like a very big deal.
Musk should buy MSNBC, and throw the current lineup out, and start over with something new. Maybe a balanced news service?

MSNBC "needed" to keep the anchor after parent company Comcast announced plans to spin off several NBCUniversal channels, one executive said.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow has reportedly agreed to take a “far lesser amount” than her current $30 million a year as worries loom among MSNBC staff after parent company Comcast revealed its plan to spin off several NBCUniversal channels — including that network — into a new company.
Maddow, who has been with MSNBC since 2008, renegotiated her deal with the network and is set to make $25 million annually for the next five years, a $5 million per year pay cut, The Ankler reported Thursday.

How will she ever be able to eat on that salary!?

$25 Million/year is still a lot of money, and you still have to draw a sizable audience to justify anyone paying you that kind of moolah.

How does she make 25,000/year ? Based on audience size, if her cousin went into a hospital with no TV, her ratings would drop by 25%.

She doesn't look like she eats very well to start.

I used to listen to her when she first got started.

Now, I have a poster of her look from 2016 in my office.

And she only does one show a week for now 25 million/year while the network is circling the drain.

Behind every leftist is usually a selfish, greedy asshole.

NBC is doing all it can to distance themselves from this trainwreak of demafasict propaganda

It is interesting to compare the compensation given to those like her, and say that Colbert fellow (reportedly $50MM/year), and to top athletes, who, when they get above $20 million we are told the sky is starting to fall.

Those athletes have proven their talent and worth in the ultimate Darwinian environment, where thousands of aspirants start out and only a few hundred make it to the top levels. While in the entertainment/"news" world, people with marginal talent are exalted for reasons known only to the execs who select them.

I have to wonder - and I do wonder - if Maddow could be better at her job if she would only add a bit of objectivity, and not constantly spout Leftist drivel. Maybe not, but it would be worth a try. Look at the explosion following the innocent, and well-warranted trip to Mar-a-Lago by the Morning Joe team. In a rational world, this sort of thing would be lauded, but not in THIS world.

The zero-sum society. For Maddow to live well many are impoverished. For she brings nothing to GDP while actually subtracting from it.

She surely buys some snazzy pantsuits with the $12M or so she takes home after taxes.

I wonder what she will do if she finds out her new boss will be Elon Musk?
