The Why Files just did a video on the coming Quantum Apocalypse, the day that Al secrets are exposed

It’s a compelling presentation

Everything digital is rendered useless

All my USMB posts, all for naught

What’s the point of humanity?

I read an article many moons ago. They let 2 AI's talk to each other.

The AI's quickly developed their own language that humans couldn't understand. The amount of conversation between AI's started increasing exponentially and the humans pulled the plug on both of them.

A great site . Except for the unfunny Goldfish.
I have resisted posting topics they have looked at as basically this lot prefer Games and Puzzles plus trivial party politics .

A bit patronising but Disclosure is due in the next few days and that will put it all into perspective .

Elon will be able to read your mind!

I read a terrific book by sunrise Ray Kurzweil about the prospective transcendence of humanity over biology: “The Singularity is a Near.”

If you like this topic, his book is highly recommended.

Just a sci-fi, nothing to worry about. lol. :)

👉 The notion of a "Quantum Apocalypse" refers to the potential for future quantum computers to break current encryption methods, leading to significant security and privacy breaches. While this scenario poses serious risks, it is not an imminent threat. Experts suggest that full-scale quantum computers capable of such feats are still years away from practical implementation, likely a decade or more[2][4][5]. Thus, while the concept warrants attention, it remains speculative rather than a present reality.

👉 To prepare for potential risks from quantum computing, organizations should implement the following strategies:

1. Conduct Cryptographic Inventory: Assess current cryptographic systems to identify vulnerabilities, particularly those relying on algorithms like RSA and ECC that are susceptible to quantum attacks[1][3].

2. Adopt Quantum-Resistant Algorithms: Transition to quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms as recommended by NIST and other standards bodies[1][4].

3. Train Workforce: Educate employees about quantum computing risks and mitigation strategies through workshops and conferences[1][2].

4. Risk Assessment: Identify sensitive data that may need protection over the long term, ensuring that security measures are in place[2][3].

5. Collaborative Efforts: Engage with technology providers, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive defenses against quantum threats[1].

In humans, we have a good percentage who talk one thing and do another. Or perhaps are adherents to the cause and let others who think the same do the work and there are many in that camp. So, AI and computer advancements will dwarf us in those intangibles. nd they will develop egos of superiority as we do.

That was actually a movie and here's a little about it along with it's lead actor now seen in Young and the Restless:

For laymen unfamiliar with computation theory and machine intelligence, I strongly recommend this book before you run down rabbit holes of all these pop-science mumbo jumbo. You'll learn more about the foundational ideas from this than you ever will from all the recent hype and marketing crap, not a new book either, it predates the bullshit:

I also strongly recommend this book too, this also predates the recent hype, bluster and marketing oriented crap:

It's not appreciated enough, that technology is itself subject to fads and fashion, much of what we see today about AI is fad, fashion, all hype that likes to accentuate controversy and emphasizes spectacular claims and so on, don't be fooled, THINK for yourself, do not follow the crowd.

This is dismal, not even fit for kids.

Think people, think, create, use your own minds, do not robotically follow what others tell you, innovate, create like Lennon did.

The world of microelectronics and microcomputing emerged from the 60s counter culture. It did not emerge from conservativism, conformity, racism and populsim. It emerged from people who were freeing themselves from all of those.

The fads we see today, social networking, "disinformation" (a word we never needed when I was a kid) sound bites, never gave rise to anything, embracing all this bullshit will set you back years, it will stifle you.
