Why isn't there some kind of legal qualification gauntlet a President of the U.S. has to traverse? Like maybe running your own profitable business? Apparently today, the only real qualification is a degree from Harvard and/or a law degree and/or being the son/daughter of another career politician. Running a business......not so much. What we have in the Whitehouse today, is an aging politician whose only experience is being a politician and America is suffering. At this point, the Pillow Guy is looking pretty good actually.

No Uber wealthy people. Time for a real american, one who is living paycheck to paycheck like the masses, to run.

Nope. Like a janitor. They know more about Americans than wealthy businessmen do. Irrefutable fact.

Politics is a profession best left to the professionals. The last 4 years under the blob were an unmitigated disaster is all the evidence one should require for proof of that theorem.

Right because the current President with nearly 50 years of experience has been such a huge success.
He has actually been very successful in what he was installed to do.

It's just that what he was installed to do had absolutely nothing to do with looking out for the best interests of the American people.

The primaries are the gauntlet. We get the politicians we deserve.

Speaking of successful business, how fucking stupid you have to be to lose money on a fricking casino!?! The odds are literally in the house's favor!

No lawyers would be a good start.....We elect professional liars and expect them to govern any different? :cuckoo:
Incredibly idiotic position... we're a nation of laws and having someone who understands the law would be the first thing we should look for in a politician.

We need voters who take their responsibility seriously.

If you measure success by getting major legislation passed...he's (once again) superior to your blob.

Infrastructure
Defense bill (raise for the Troops)
Stimulus
Disaster of a withdrawal from Afghanistan, record high inflation, covid that he claimed he would end surging, border out of control, supply chain shortage still going, has failed to get members of his own party Manchin and Sinema to go along with his 3.5 trillion spending farce or to get rid of the filibuster or nationalize elections. This is just some of his failures and all this with a sympathetic media trying to cover for him and even they are starting to have trouble continuing that.

OK then, look at the 1000+ page Bills that come out of congress, you know, the ones you have to pass to see what is in them.

They were clearly not written by people with much common sense, they were written by (mostly) dishonest lawyers that make sure there are cut-outs for all their cronies/special interests.

It would seem to me the responsible thing for a voter to do would be to avoid electing lawyers....Problem solved, problem staying solved. ;)

I think there is something to be said for that myself

Yeah...if this board is any indication, there isn't an abundance of common sense or honesty in the average folks.

Yeah, it was a dumb idea earlier...re-stating it hasn't made the idea any more intelligent.

Well at least you are coming around.....I suspect you will see the sense in the rest of what I think by and by. ;)

Yep, common sense seems to be a rare quality these days and the deficit of same getting worse.....It's done up and almost completely left the building among most national politicians......60-odd percent which were/are lawyers....Hey, I sense a pattern.

As to the board members, well having not been here all that long I can't really speak to that but as long as they remain respectful and don't personal name-call to any great extent then it's all good. :)
