Putin is useless to stop the escalation. Putin is a crappy war time leader, a real puss. Putin botched Ukraine and was blind to Russia's security breach (Syria) right in his own backyard. Who could have faith in such an incompetent leader as Putin.

If Putin had finished the Special Military Operation in Ukraine fast...there would be lower nuke worries. Get rid of Putin and put in a good leader in Russia to save the world from nuke war.

NATO wants to divide Russia up as war spoils to get at the natural resources. And the Russians have an embarrassment of a leader. So, time will tell.
