‘The three Russian sources, familiar with top-level Kremlin thinking, said Putin will not stop the war under pressure from the West and believes Russia — which has survived the toughest sanctions imposed by the West — can endure further economic hardship, including threatened U.S. tariffs targeting buyers of Russian oil.

"Putin thinks no one has seriously engaged with him on the details of peace in Ukraine — including the Americans — so he will continue until he gets what he wants," one of the sources said on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation.’

Surviving sanctions was part of Putin’s long-term plan for the invasion.

Russia is going to be facing more weapons and more offense.

At some point, if he does have a clear invasion advantage, I imagine the Brits and French will have to offer troops. Someone in the E.U will have to unless they want the tanks to keep rolling West.

Then Putin will die.

The problem with being a dictator is -- There's no retirement plan. All Dictators die in Office.

Putin has to win or he's dead and he knows it. This is HIS War. He bet everything on it.

Putin wants to fight on but I don't know about the rest of Russia. Especially the parents burying their children. In particular, the Mothers. They're pissed

Besides, with Western Weapons and enough of them, Ukraine might actually kick Russia's ass. Shouldn't be that tough to get a bunch of Pig Farmers to run for cover.

Russia is a Paper Tiger. They only know how to fight "Casulaty Wars''. Where they're willing to endure more casualties than their enemy. They're willing to sacrifice more of their young men than their opponents.

Those type of Wars stopped being practical around 1965

Check out the new thread on WW3 already started. Many of the answers to the important questions are there too.

This war is America's last chance to become the world's One Big Power.

Exactly!

And he's gambling that he has made Russia into the world's greatest fighting machine!

He knows that America made the wrong choice by not becoming a great missile power. Both defensive and offensive.
And America doesn't have an industrial base that could allow it to catch up.

There's the reason why the Zionist regime was pounded so thoroughly by Iran that it had to ask the US to negotiate peace.

On a positive note, Russia, China, and Iran are not aggressive and they don't want war. But now they're ready.

Russia has minimal need for aircraft carriers, they're not an aggressor nation.

They are the world's leading missile power, along with China and Iran.

That's the issue that doesn't get discussed on this board.

It's simply the facts now that America made a mistake. But then what else can a warring nation do?

thats what they tell you...i live next door to a captain who is an active pilot out of Nellis AF base,,,,he says we have some pretty nasty things too...that has to do with missiles....

War ends and so does his life...He knows that.
No American should be supporting him, or his regime. I don't support Russia either. I merely stating the facts. Both are corrupt, but one is taking billions of dollars, weapons, etc, the Biden Administration basically gave them a blank check.

Don't ask a military person for an opinion. They are coached to never see a possibility of defeat.

We all need to be attentive enough to see what's happened all around us. If the Houthis could cause pandemonium on US carrier, what can Iran do?

It makes one think of nuclear war, doesn't it?

What in the world are you talking about? Russia's demographic are some of the worst in the world, they are doomed.

THis will have no impact on our... STAYING, the world's one big power. Or not.

I would hate to have a military that can't be honest about battles that your side is likely to lose.

That would be terrible. HOw many men would be lost for no reason in that scenario.

I pray to ******* GOOD that the US military is better than that.
