  • A large crowd gathered Friday night near the Hilton Canopy Hotel and later moved to the Depot Renaissance Hotel.
  • At 9:45 p.m., some protesters tried to force their way into the Canopy Hotel.
  • Minneapolis police declared an unlawful assembly, detaining and citing over 30 individuals during the course of the night.
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Minneapolis police say they detained and cited 30 people as anti-ICE protests escalated Friday night outside the Hilton Canopy Hotel in downtown Minneapolis.

These people are lurching toward a consequence I don't think they're banking on...God forbid that people like Mayor Frey, or Governor Walz actually thinks that they can pit their LE agencies, including the NG, against Federal agents...This could be disastrous....
And make no mistake about it, the so called leadership in these area's are the ones responsible for escalation in these events. And they are going to be responsible for the bloodshed when it occurs, and it will if it keeps going.

.

I just want to hear that any ICE officers who might have been in the hotel were removed to security.

About time. If local police had been on scene in Minneapolis, Rene Good would likely have been detained instead of allowed to try to kill an ICE agent.

Maybe the governments of Minneapolis is finally waking up that the Tim Walz School of Government is a disaster for them.

I’d like to think they’re waking up, more likely it political expediency.

More peaceful protesters.

I am sure other guests at the hotels and citizens in their high rise condos just love the fact there will be no sleeping in Mpls for the foreseeable future.

Just 40 miles out in the exurbs and among the Trump flags it's peace and quiet and the birds are chirping.

Unlawful assembly? A slap on the wrist. They should have been slapped with a charge of terroristic activities.

The Left have found a bunch of braindead losers with nothing better to do than to self-immolate themselves all in the cause of helping democrats win back a few seats. If a few of them die, it was all for a just cause. :uhh:

And so they should be charged. We just sent 20 guys into Venezuela to kick 300 commando's asses. Survivors said they can't believe how hard they were hit, they never saw anything like it, so of course these democrats think they can chase away the federal government enforcing the law in their state with a few cops and NG.

These democrats are deliberately throwing people under the bus knowing they'll get hurt just to use it as a marketing ploy for this year's election.

All this has to be very damaging for the City's business environment.

Maybe existing businesses will ride out the storm, but why would anyone start a new venture there?

Is St Paul just as bad?

Communists don’t care how many useful idiots they get killed. They think they’re immune from consequences…

None will be prosecuted

Good…it’s about time. People need to learn that these are not constitutionally protected gatherings. Arrest them until they follow the law.

Problem is that Keith Ellison will dismiss the citations.

If the federal government sends more agents in to arrest them, he won’t be able to dismiss those citations.

Dems need to actually read the constitution every now and then instead of following what their media tells them.

St. Paul is like a ghost town except when the Wild are playing. Mpls has a night life, you just have to walk the gauntlet of gangbangers and questionable people.
No thanks.
Most people now work and live in the burbs and hardly go to the cities when everything and more is available in a safer area.
Who would want to go downtown when you might get blocked in traffic because a mob took over the street?
Doing some shopping outside of the Twin Cities today. No weirdos, nice and quiet and I saw only one lone loser standing on the overpass freezing with his sign.
