Not a single complaint.
For a model that's being phased out. Why would we be building it here? Sounds like a fire sale. Good job getting something out of obsolete equipment.

I read this was the F35 not the F16. In any case its DUMB, like Obama and the rest of these imbecile liberals.

Any F16s that are sold in the US from that point will attract a 35% tariff.
Presumably they built that into their business model for shifting overseas and decided it was worth the expense...somehow reaching the conclusion that they're going to sell more F16s overseas than in the US.

From what I saw this is some 'made in india' campaign, whereby if they're going to sell the planes to india, they have to be made in India.
So, we'll show them how to build fighter planes to sell them a couple of fighter planes and move all production of the f-16 to india.
And the Indians are overt in wanting tech transfer, not just production, so they can jump start their own domestic avionics industry.
This is just ******* stupid.

The factories and the jobs in question are required for the new models. THREAD FAIL! Does GM keep making 2016 models after the 2017s come out?

I'm reminded of a scandal that arose, some decades ago, when the Navy outsourced the production of a strategically-sensitive milling machine to Toshiba. This machine was used to make propellers for submarines, and it was one area where we had a very significant advantage over the Soviets; that we were able to make better submarine propellers that allowed our submarines to be quieter and more stealthy.
Toshiba made one more of these machines than we had contracte them to make, and sold it to the Soviets. A short time later, the Soviets were making propellers for their submarines that were as good as the ones we had for ours, and we lost an important advantage.

Exactly.
There's a whole package of technologies that go along with something like this. it's about more than just jobs.
Tech transfer isn't just moving production.
why would we want to enable another country's military avionics program and push their technology forward when they can then use those advances in other areas to compete with us in other areas.
That's just stupid.

"The U.S. is phasing out the F-16 for its own use and embracing newer programs like the F-35.
Obama gave the defense industry the go-ahead on plans to build the classic American fighter jets in India. Both Lockheed Martin and Boeing have been in talks with the Indian government to build the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the F/A-18 Super Hornet for the Indian Air Force in India, according to the Washington Post.
The companies intend to move their production facilities to India. Lockheed may relocate its entire F-16 assembly line, moving manufacturing from Fort Worth, Texas to India.
Lockheed insists the deal with India will not result in a loss of U.S. jobs.
“It doesn’t take jobs away from the U.S., it extends existing jobs, and not just for Fort Worth but for many other companies around the U.S. that build parts for the F-16,” Randy Howard, the director of business development for Lockheed’s integrated fighter group, told the Washington Post.
In addition to manufacturing and exporting the F-16, India will also be involved in supporting thousands of fighter jets operating worldwide."

We said that when bush was trying to give Airbus or Lockheed Martin the contract instead of Boeing.
Us liberals give up. This is a global corporate free market open border economy now. Don't expect us to do anything corporations don't want to do. Corporations rule now dork fury. If it will save them money then we must do it. It will save everyone money. Shareholders ceo's consumers. Don't worry about American workers. They voted GOP so they get what they deserve.
Build new factories every time you have new models? Now you're just talking out of your ass. Of course you retrofit. That's what I was saying happens when you have a new model.
