Tyler Shough, 2nd round. This guy is a 25 yr old rookie, he backed up Justin Herbert at Oregon. Looked the most ready, even with a pick six. Great arm, great deep ball, good touch, had good reads most of the game. He played at three colleges. Another Bo Nix in experience before the NFL, but on a bad team (Saints).

Shedeur Sanders, 5th round - He has all the confidence ncessary to be successful. He has a lot to learn but guys will play for him and he totally expects to win. He will have success eventually, no idea when he gets there. Will be starting soon, probably out of necessity.

Jaxson Dart, 1st round - Guy has got an arm, and he can run, too. That makes him more of a Josh Allen type, great arm, great size, good speed. He will be starting very soon, I'll guess week 4 or 5, they won't waste games on Wilson unless he wins early.

Did not watch McCarthy or Ward. Next years QB class is going to be loaded, there is probably some urgency for these rookies to develop, or they might get Cousins'd.

The Saints have a good defense....but they still don't have an established QB.

Tyler Shough looks like he can develop into another solid game management QB for a strong team. But he's not the type that can carry a team.

I didn't see any of the other guys. Jaxson Dart reminds me of John Elway.

The Titans are a mess right now...so Ward is going to have a rough season.

Shadeur Sanders has less to learn than the other QBs you mentioned. His father is a hall of famer. I'm sure has taught his son what to look for in NFL defenses. Do not be surprised if he doesn't end up starting, and he might just get Rookie of the year. Slugh and Dart aren't really all that and the league is really trying hard to get rid of Russell Wilson.

I watched Dart while in college, not impressed. Same with Slough. Will Howard was better than both of them.

Sanders and Ward were the best 2 college QBS last year and they will probably end up having the best careers.

I watched Elway at Stanford, Dart is not even close. Don't be surprised if he ends up like the QB they drafted out of Duke.

My brother met Elway when he was in his prime at Denver.

Jaxson Dart seems to carry himself the way Elway did.

They're roughly the same size....Jaxson Dart is a bit bigger weight-wise.

Dart has a live arm with plenty of velocity. He has a gunslinger's attitude. Can fit the ball into tight windows. Highly accurate with the deep ball. Mobile in the pocket. Seems to have a lot of confidence in his game.

Good info. So what is your draft strategy? I keep hearing wait til the the 5th round to draft your QB but that seems crazy given how much a top tier QB adds week after week. And do you load up on RBs or WRs up front?

You talking fantasy draft? I play some fantasy football on DraftKings, but that is just week to week stuff, small bets, where you play against other teams in a pool, all with different prizes and entry fees. I suck at it but its fun.

I don't know about all that, Sanders holds on to the ball too long, scrambles, and then makes late throws, you can get yourself in a lot of trouble playing that way. He is going to have to get rid of the ball faster. The defenses he has seen in college were not even SEC or Big 10 level in complexity. He might need more time to develop. I think he will get there though.

The SEC and Big10 are overrated. Patrick Mahomes played in the Big 12. Josh Allen played in the Mountain West. Will Howard played 5 years in the Big 12 and then tore up the Big 10 and won a national championship. Sanders was better than both Dart and Slough. And as I said, his father was a Hall of Famer; I'm sure he won't mind continuing to teach his son. Sanders looked pretty good Saturday night.

Will Howard probably wont even be the 3rd QB on the Steelers, he probably lost that spot to Skylar Thompson. He was a game manager on a loaded OSU team and might not even make an NFL roster.

It's funny you say that because He was sitting behind Thompson as a freshman at KSU. He won a Big 12 title. Dart and Slough were not much more than game managers themselves.

What little I saw of Ward tonight was very impressive, a cannon for an arm, had much success in college, not sure of his receivers and the team is one of the worst, but made really nice throws (great deep ball dropped by Van Jefferson). This team has been searching for a QB for a long, long time. At first glance, they look like they might have their guy now.

They have made mistakes. Mariotta took them to the playoffs, and then they decided to use Tannehill. But Ward is nice and if they build around him properly, the Titans can make a comeback in a couple of years.

Too bad for Vrabel, he bullt a great team that one season, had Derrick Henry running all over everyone and a great defense, only to have Tannehill throw it away in the first playoff game. That dude was a slightly better Zack Wilson.

Yeah, they kind of wasted Henry because they had a subpar QB. I wanted the Chiefs to get Henry, but...

Sanders needs to improve his private life. The sports networks have talked him up more than any other player in the 2025 draft. Not fair to him and other players. Remember last year in the National basketball Association draft with Leron James's son. He could do no wrong. Cleveland has had endless quarterbacks come to their town and each left or getting ready to.

Pre season scores -
J. Dart and C. Ward received an A.
D. Gabriel, T. Shough, S. Bennett (for winning on 4th down against the Chargers) receive a B.
Sanders had a C and failed the test Sat.

Only those graded.
Not seen much of McCarthy and I don't get the feeling he is at all prepared for Monday night.

And the winner of Week 3 goes to Graham Mertz, Wisconsin, when he is on, he can be really good.
