Post here when you are notified that you can no longer afford your health insurance.

I have a letter that my health Benifits from the municipality I worked 20 years for stating my benefits maybe canceled. I will post here if it happens.
Affordable Care Act took out the equivilant of over two weeks of my pay a year and got nothing in return.

AFL.CIO boys were against it and got heat from the Democrat Party for their stand.

As a direct consequence of Republican control of Congress, millions of Americans are about to see their healthcare coverage expire or become prohibitively expensive.

Do you believe that will help Republicans in November, 2026?

After the blowhard's many boasts of the "terrific" healthcare system he would create, will he persist in his impotence?

Started thread on October 5, 2025 and still not one person has posted their notice of a rate hike.

In the unlikely event that Democrats ruin the current system enough to finally get all-government healthcare, here is what we can look forward to:

Thus far the VA checks still cash--or so the Dr.'s tell me.
Under Veteran's Choice..I get the top tier care at St. Lukes

I keep hearing about this thing called Medicare--sounds scary!

What about a mandatory three-year military service for which four years of unarmed service under similar conditions to military training and service (such as forest fire service, or EMT service in low-income neighborhoods) can be substituted? All who complete their mandatory service get VA health benefits for life, as long as the person continues to serve as a reservist - say until of age for Medicare.

Anyone not willing to serve will pay for their own healthcare on a truly free market.

Seems like the best of both worlds, doesn't it?

Seems incredibly obvious this forum skews toward the geezer set, most posters here have already aged into government health care.

Good point.

But we're not even getting stories about 'my cousin's wife's manicurist had her rates quintupled and now she has to work at Starbucks parttime just to get health insurance!'

It is a hoax. The only people experiencing significant rate hikes are those making significantly more than the taxpayers they have had paying for their health insurance since COVID.

Those wealthy trustfunders, artists, and hobby business owners, are not sympathetic to those of us still punching a clock.

At 2:30, Senator Peter Welch, D-VT names November 1st as the "drop Dead date," at which time 24,000,000 Americans "they are gonna get new premiums that will make it impossible in many cases for them to buy that health insurance their family needs."

Post here and let us know when you get your notice of increased and unaffordable premiums. Let us know if they came from the Afordable Care Act exchanges.

We'd like to see from real people if this really happens and how much the new premiums are. Show proof, please - redacting your personal information, of course.

It'll be cheaper if they emigrated to a country with a social health care system.
