Ladies and Gentlemen, our new pope the former Bob Prevost grew up in Chicago and voted most recently in three GOP primaries: 2012, 2014, and 2016. He also voted in some Democrat primaries, the last being in 2010. So it sounds like Prevost has become a pretty strong conservative. He also voted in the 2024 presidential election. It is almost a certainty he voted for Trump, given Harris' leftwing anti-life and pro-LGBT positions. You have to remember Chicago is deep deep blue. Yet Prevost has been voting Republican. The leftwing media claims he is not a registered Republican since primary elections do not differentiate by party, but he has declared as a Republican when voting in presidential elections. A leftwing "fact checker" rates Charlie Kirk's claim that Prevost was a registered Republican as "mostly false", even though their explanation refutes their own conclusion.

So I'm pretty optimistic about how things will go. Right now the leftwing media is baselessly and falsely claiming he slammed Trump and Vance and their immigration position. This story is completely unfounded.
1) Prevost never mentioned either man.
2) His alleged account "liked" a story with many other things in it
3) Most important, there has never been any verification that the account was linked to Prevost.
Nonetheless, the leftwing media is running with this false story.
This pope is more precise, and obviously speaks perfect English, so the media will not be able to intentionally mistranslate his words. Obviously they can and will edit his words like they did with Pope Francis to make it appear his positions were heretical according to the Church. But Francis, who has been portrayed as liberal through edited sound bites has NEVER equivocated on Catholic doctrine. From everything I'm hearing, the new Pope Leo will better be able to refute false reports about his positions.
I also think there may have been a Trump effect with Prevost's selection, him being an American and a likely Trump voter. Unlike Francis, Prevost doesn't come from a socialist environment. He doesn't see socialism as the example. He comes in as an American with its can-do capitalism. Francis was also a Jesuit, an order which has a history of being 'out there'. Jesuit churches in New York City appear to endorse heresy with respect to LGBT marriage. Prevost is an Augustinian whose members are much more cerebral and doctrinal.
Summary: Even though the leftwing media is doing its best to divide Catholics and turn them against the Pope by declaring him a liberal, the evidence shows he is a conservative Republican. He voted in the 2024 election. No way he voted for the pro-abortion pro-trans candidate, so he almost certainly voted Trump. A MAGA Pope. How cool is that?
