Politics Aside, Here’s How To Spot Greatness in a Presidential Candidate

25 Oct 2024 ~~ By Carylynn Larson

In analyzing the two presidential candidates, voters should ask themselves a set of key questions based on the government’s ECQs. Start by browsing through the short descriptions of the executive qualifications. Then, note how candidates demonstrate the skills and abilities that will be most critical to our nation’s success over the next four years.
Fundamentally: Who is most honest? The best communicator? Strongest in social settings? A stronger learner? More selflessly motivated to serve the public?
Whoever wins will need to work with those who disagree, so Influencing and Partnering are critical. Whoever wins will be faced with decisions that impact us for generations to come, thus the need for Decisiveness and Accountability. Whoever wins will surround themselves with advisers, so Flexibility, Conflict Management, and Leveraging Diversity are key.
With specific skills and abilities in mind, pay close attention to how candidates engage with others, especially those with different political viewpoints. You’ll notice candidates’ character and competencies in their words and in their body language. You might even do your own “after action review” of their accomplishments.

Commentary:
In my minds eye, I see competence in Donald Trump, certainly much moreso than with Kamala Harris. Tim Walz is a joke...however, I do see potential there with JD Vance. He is conservative, much better able to speak conversationally about it and he takes the high road.
We have an opportunity with him that perhaps we've not had for awhile.
I don't believe Democrats are ready to "spot greatness". They need a remedial course in candidate selection involving what not to look for in a candidate. Let's start with being drunk, being senile, and cackling as things you don't want to see in your nominee.
Remember that Harris/Walz were not chosen by the people in the primaries, she was chosen by the DNC power brokers.
As we get closer to election day, Democrats are becoming more desperate especially Harris taht are screaming about the coming rally at Madison Square Garden, calling it Trump Hitler and the rally a Nazi rally, while they completely forget the 1924 Democrat Convention supporting the KKK.

"Madison Square Garden, home to the New York Knicks and one of the most famous arenas in the world, has a capacity of 19,500 seats. The venue hosted the Democratic National Convention in 1924, 1976, 1980 and 1992, as well as the Republican National Convention in 2004."

You see what you want to see. Trump has been president before. He was terrible.

i agree that those qualities are essential, but if you think that trump possesses any of them in any measurable quantity boggles the mind.

trump is a whiney ***** who dies not play well with others.

Then it comes fown to the lesser of two evils.
Do you want a weak, incompetent puppet for president or someone that will fight for America's safety and betterment, who believes in America first.

The dangers of such analyses are that they are written by people who have been schooled , aren't obviously stupid and are part of the system .Middle class , say .
Now compare this type of profile with your average , not very bright and gullible voter .
I think these voters get no further ( as a group) than Economy and Immigration .
That's how living affects them directly and how they see the world .

If roughly correct , Trump wins comfortably .

Unfortunately, it is complicated by effects of influencers and the amounts of money used to repeat messages .
And to win you also need to either cheat better than your opponent, or , know how to spot and prevent your opponent cheating better than they manage to prevent you chiselling .
