I don’t disagree, but your analysis is based on the presumption that Putin is a rational actor and will halt his expansionism if Ukraine surrenders. That opinion is misguided. Putin’s aim is to reconstitute the Soviet Empire and he will only be stopped if he is defeated in the Ukraine.

Putin held back during the Trump years because Trump was causing discord in NATO. Putin was smart enough to let Trump do his work for him. Be that as it may, there is a reason the Balkins, for instance, are supporting the war effort against Russia. They know they will be next if Putin wins.
