Cops Arrest Blind Man For Having A Cane

The guy is vision impaired so has a folding cane sticking out of his back pocket.
It is white, many dowels, 1,5' long, and looks nothing at all like a gun.
But the police illegally claim that gives then the right to detain, demand an ID, and arrest him for resisting.

This is what the "defund the police" was originally all about--steering monies for the police to another entity that would act as a mediator; allowing the cops to address actual crimes instead of folks who were clearly in distress. When matters escalate...they end in arrest. Or worse.

No, it was about eviscerating the cops. Defunding them does absolutely nothing whatsoever to address the shit cops on power trips.

You want results, put these shitheads in jail.

Well...we've been doing that. And they get released due to jails being overcrowded. And the cycle repeats itself.
...?

No we haven't. Cops almost never see jail time for their flagrant abuses of power. Even in this case the primary officer received a slap on the wrist, barely, and the supervisor, who ordered an illegal arrest to intimate an innocent man, seen some consequences but both are still out there patrolling the streets.

I was talking about sending a cop out to essentially stop someone from being a nuisance and it escalates to the point where an arrest is made.

You're right about police who abuse their authority.

Well you have a point there, in that if "defunding" ends up with low paid cops who were even worse, that would be bad.
But I would prefer we have far fewer cops, but pay them better, so that they had more training, education, etc., and were less violent.

Where do they find this stuff? Come on lefties. The guy was white and could have explained why he had a folding stick in his back pocket but he decided to confront the Police Officer with an aggressive attitude. Think about how you are going to deal with the little army of armed IRS officers before you make a federal case out of this incident.

Deport them.
Well, lets unpack this latest bit of lunacy from you.

As we've seen with the gun-nut mass shooters; almost all are US Citizens and members of the "well regulated militia". Where do you want to deport them to?

Secondly, if you're the victim of a crime and the perp happens to be from another nation, is justice being served if they are merely deported?

Lastly, once you deport them, the recepient nation often doesn't carry out a sentence (if any) imposed by a US Court. So they are free to come on back any old time.

Build the wall.

Sounds more 'abuse of power' than 'illegal'.
