Statistical significance - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

Last year about 1000 people were killed by cops...just or not. Out of 1, 000, 000 cops.

Thats 0.1% of cops.

Scientific analysis using stats typically sets "relevance" as MORE than 1-5% depending on the study.

So...a scientist studying the "problem" of cops killing someone....would say its statistically INSIGNIFICANT.

Your numbers are flawed...of those 1,000,000 cops...only a fraction of them are actually cops who would be n such a situation.

And that number would drop significantly if people didn't do stupid shit like...oh I dunno...stay in your damn car during a traffic stop and not run?

Any cop any day can face a use of force scenario. Did Va Tech campus cops think they'd face a massacre? Did Fort Hood civilian cops ever think Army members would give them any problem?

Still trying to play denial with killers that are cops??? Maybe we should hold them to a lower standard than what they hold us perps to???

Not at all. When a bad situation happens...the locals of that city should demand it be handled fairly.

But treating it as a national outrage...on par with ISIS or the collapsed economy....the "problem" is statistically insignificant.

When you see the raw stats....its clear this outrage is nothing more than a national attempt to stoke racial division and undermine law enforcement. ...which is what socialists and communists historically always do.

Meanwhile DRUNK DRIVERS kill 28 people PER DAY in America. Around 10, 000 per year.

But the national outrage is 0.1% of cops.

Have you heard about this new recommendation from the doj?
Sheriff stands by new PBSO gun policy - wptv.com
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw says his new gun policies will not make deputies look bad.

But the union has concerns because every single time a PBSO deputy points a gun at someone, it will be documented in their file.

According to the new rule, if a deputy points a gun at someone a supervisor must be called and a special report filed.

The sheriff says the new documentation system is recommended by the Department of Justice and will allow them to better track use of force situations.

There are no Fort Hood civilian cops, only MP's...

Really??? The female cop who stopped Hassan was a civilian, not an MP.

Doctors fucking up kill between 48, 000-98, 000 Americans per year.

Doctors in America fuck up and kill 50-100x more people than cops. But...no national outrage.

They can go on post, but they are not Fort Hood cops....Maybe Copperas Cove or Killeen...

Did you see post #8.

Im ok with that. Lots of departments already do it since pointing a firearm is technically a crime in most cities ("pointing or brandishing") so many depts do a report to justify why they did it. Sheriffs depts not as much. But many municipalities do this already

Well...either way...im sure she never thought she'd be in that situation that day.

Thanks for your input. My concern is how the doj will use this information, as it will be reported back to them.

Which is more likely? Being killed by a cop in America or......being killed by an Islamic terrorist in America?

Depends. If you commit a crime and resist arrest....far more likely a cop will use force on you.

If you're law abiding and cooperative with cops.....hell....probably almost no chance either one gets you.

Glad you just implied that American policemen are worse than Islamic terrorists though. Very classy.
