Had one from 1917, found it in a box of books I picked up at auction.

taters were 18¢ for a 25lb bag then,

bread was 4¢ a loaf.

Great advice on the bottom of the page. When I lived in Western Montana, if we weren't busy canning local produce, a friend would drive her truck to the orchards in Eastern WA and load up a ton of fruit, and bring it back for the entire town to share, at 10¢ per pound. They had some well stocked pantries in that locality!
