We all saw the Philedelpia Eagle's coach soaked down with Gatorade after the big win against Kansas City in the Superbowl.
Traditions are funny and sometimes they don’t make sense. I remember the football game in 1985 when Jim Burt of the New York Giants dumped Gatorade on coach Bill Parcells. That started a tradition that goes on to this day, but it is a tradition that makes no sense. In a logical world the Gatorade would be dumped on the losing coach not the winning coach. We have all seen some bad coaching decisions that resulted in unexpected losses and what would make more sense than to waterboard the bad coach with a bucket? But instead, we get to watch teams drench their own coach after a big win. It’s not even original.
I hereby petition to change that tradition and make it a rule to stamp out bad coaching.
