The US economy had a nice run up from 2009 to 2017, it is overdue for a "correction" of 10% or so. If this is the peak of the economy many middle-class folks don't want to ride the Obama global economy "race to the bottom" is simply a "fact of life" get used to it mindset. Voters like the US populism mentality as outlined by Trump. Agreed its a major roll of the dice betting on Trump, but its either Trump or the slow decline into poverty.
