This somehow bothers me. We are working to make their military stronger while, at the same time, the government appears to be assisting with the invasion of our country!

If they stand aside to let tens of thousands move through Mexico to reach our border, how can we be spending our resources to help them?

Since our government has had 100% success in the war on drugs, it's only natural that they help the neighbor to the south to do the same.

The best thing we can do to stop illegal immigration is improve the state of our southern neighbors.

It is in the best interests of Mexico to reciprocate with help curbing the tide of those entering the US illegally.

Mexican authorities turn back tens of thousands of illegal immigrants attempting to travel North thru Mexico, I don't think you understand what "stand aside" means.

By your retarded logic we should stop funding and training the US Border Patrol, since they stand by and let tens of thousands into our country.

U.S. military officials are reluctant to discuss the relationship openly because of sensitivities in Mexico about appearing dependent on American help. In a statement, the Pentagon said the U.S. military participated in 150 "engagements" with Mexican troops on both sides of the border, "sharing training opportunities with more than 3,000 Mexican soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines."

The statement said the Pentagon's "interactions" with Mexico's military have expanded over the past three years. Mexican government officials declined to speak on the record about the training.
