Now I don't disagree with this position, especially as some lawsuits may follow. However, they often will give a preliminary assessment after a couple of days. She seems unwilling to do so.

I bet it boils down to multiple reasons/hypothesis, but the primary reason being the runway. From what I saw, it looked like it slid and/or the back tail got caught in the snow, causing it to break off. They will try to blame the wind, but I didn;t see it wobbling on the way down at all, it was a poor kept runway.

That's just my assessment from watching the video a couple of times.

The president and CEO of Toronto's Pearson International Airport says investigators are on site following a plane crash this week that sent multiple people to hospital.

Deborah Flint spoke to reporters at a Tuesday afternoon news conference alongside emergency responders.

On Monday afternoon, a Delta Air Lines plane crashed and flipped on the airport's runway.

Flint said that on Monday night, seven members of the Transportation Safety Board arrived at the airport to begin examining what happened, with 13 more arriving on Tuesday. They are being joined by teams from Delta and Mitsubishi, the company that built the plane, she added.

Flint also said she would "not speculate" on the cause of the crash with the investigation underway.

I always hate flying on those "mini jets". In high crosswinds they get blown all over the place.
I didn't see much wind. The only time there were problems was when it hit the runway.

If wind were an issue she probably would have speculated. That's how these scenarios generally work I think.

Looked to me like it might have been landing gear failure.
Possible but with the heavy snow conditions, it would be the lesser hypothesis. When it hits the runway there is a cloud of snow, it's unmistakable.

I'm surprised DEI wasn't blamed for this one too.

Too early to make and factual decision on what caused the crash. Democrats are grasping at any straw that will in some way mar or hurt Trump and his administration..

If only Trump hadn't laid off 400 FAA administrators, the jet would not have flipped over! :lmao:
