Over the past forty years, power, money and greed have corrupted our elected government officials at every level.
WhatÂ’s most alarming is that the blatant corruption running rampant in Washington is actually tolerated by the American people. Unfortunately, members of both parties act as if their jobs are nothing more than a big political game. TheyÂ’re so focused on insulting the other side and getting their own agendas passed that they forget who theyÂ’re supposed to be working for: the United States public.
In chapter nine of author J.R. Martin’s eye-opening, Selling U.S. Out, he points out that political scandal and corruption are not new. They’ve always existed. All one has to do is read the news to discover the corruption and greed of the big players of our government—the recent government shutdown is a prime example. Both sides want everything but are unwilling to compromise while the rest of the country is left to suffer through their juvenile temper-tantrum.
