Meanwhile, the PUBLIC supports a public option by a 2-to-1 margin:

You do know that it is some hgired lawyer that writes up the bills for Congress. This includes Lobbyists, trial lawyers, Prosecuters and even some judges.....Our elected representatives just try to sell the ideas they want implemented. They do not have to form one sentence that will go into the bill. That is what their staff is there for.

While it is true that their staff generally writes the actual wording of the bills, their "staff" are not generally supposed to be Lobbyists for corporate interests that would profit off the bill's wording.

Apparently Pat Roberts believes that the corporate interests should have time allotted to them by congress so that they'll get a chance to change the bill themselves.
