What exactly was he being an ass about? Just expecting everyone to bow down to him?
Well there was a little of that ... But that wasn't all.
He was really rude, and he tried to act like he was the authority in every matter.
He didn't so much demand that everyone should bow down to him ... As much as he couldn't understand why everyone wouldn't (if you can understand the difference).
In his mind he was God's gift to Earth ... And everything he said seemed like it was coming from a used car salesman.
I mean it was just a small upscale college bar ... And there couldn't have been more than 20 people present at the time.
He wasn't even drunk enough for that to be the cause.
But seriously ... When he stood up, collected his things and informed everyone he was leaving ... Two guys who had been playing pool started clapping.
It wasn't appreciation for anything John had accomplished ... And you could read that on their faces.
It kind of caught on and everyone not in the bathroom stood up and joined them.
One lady pointed and said ... "The door is right over there."
The laughing, carrying on and conversation about the whole event afterwards was far more enjoyable than when he had been sitting there running his mouth.
And as I mentioned ... The manager didn't have a problem buying everyone a drink to make up for it ... And he made it anything you wanted and he had on hand to serve.
