Makes sense. Goats will eat anything. They wrapped the little bomb in some food and the goat gobbled it right down! Brilliant!
As to feeling sorry for the goats, I would not worry too much. In the 1/1000th second it took to blow up, I bet the goats were blasted to dust before any pain response had time to travel to their brains.
