I still say the U.S should send their navy there and just blockade the country. This will encourage European allies to find the courage to do the same.

Advise Iran that any ships that enter or exit will be removed from their course. Re-apply sanctions on Iranian oil.

Understand Iran has chemical and biological weapons, if you had a proper functioning press in the US someone would have asked trump or the bimbo Leavitt that speaks for him, about this, about the risk to American soliders.

This is likely the reason the US has abandoned plans to send troops in, to walk into Iran and find enrcihed uranium.

Anyway a few days ago trump said this war was more or less done and the strait didn't bother him because the US has plenty of oil, so why does he care about opning it? he said those that need it can do that...

My view is that trump is doing what the Israelis want, destruction of the entire nation of Iran and this stuff about the strait is a cover. Any fool can open the strait, stop biombing Iran and stop Israel bombing Iran and sit down and reach an agreement.

Israel gets what Israel wants.

It is not automatically the same, especially in the age of shoulder fire missiles and small Thousand dollar drones. Airplanes, helicopters? Sure. But not what the threat to naval shipping, is at the present time.

To force them to comply, Trump is threatening attacking civilian infrastructure, a known war crime, itself, to open that international logistics zone. Attacking civilian shipping routes in the straits, also being a war crime, if not being used to transport war supplies. Do the two cancel out? Maybe. Depends on the court, if it actually comes to a court. Sounds like a negotiation point for both sides, unless both are willing to sacrifice those ordering or carrying out strikes on civilian targets in a terrorists campaign against civilians to achieve military objectives.
