I also think that in some cases, let the punishment fit the crime and/or if the family wants to inflict revenge on the murderer, let them. As in the case of this thread I could vote for the death Penalty but it has to be beyond a reasonable doubt. If I suspect even a small bit of the person might be innocent then no. I was on jury we were dismissed and the trial was moved bt the evidence looked bad for the fella but somethings didnt quit set well and i found out with the other juriers as well. But three years later and many dismissed juries he was found innocent. The physical evidence was real convincing agaisnt him turned out the dead mans wifes boyfriend did the killing.

There is no humane way to kill a person. From what I am told it is tough to find someone to perform the the deed. Could I have pulled the switch on the man who murdered my cousins? Yes. Prolonged solitary confinement is considered to be inhumane you know as well as more expensive for the state.

Traditionally, lifers just hang out on the yard with the other convicts, they only go to the "shoe" or solitary if they fuck up and disobey the prison's rules.
