Not old apples, just old recipes I don't see getting used much anymore.
My favorite Waldorf Salad
Ingredients
Directions
STUFFED BAKED APPLES WITH WALNUTS AND DATES
Oven 350
Core and peel top two inches of good sized baking apples.
Combine chopped dates, walnuts and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Stuff the apples, heaping it up some. Place in baking dish.
In saucepan, combine
Pour juice mixture (still hot) over the apples and into the baking dish. Bake at 350 around an hour, basting every 15 minutes.
Serve still warm with either a generous glug of heavy cream (my favorite) or vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients
- 4 cups chopped apples (about 3 large)
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon lemon juice, divided
- 4 celery ribs, chopped
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped
Directions
- In a large bowl, toss apples with 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Stir in celery and walnuts.
- In a small bowl, whisk the mayonnaise, sugar, salt and remaining lemon juice until blended. Fold in whipped cream. Gently stir into fruit mixture. Refrigerate until serving.

- 1/4 cup red hot cinnamon candies
