Um....it's nice they have something to review the EO, but State legislatures can't override EOs....they can challenge them in Court if there is harm...but they can't ignore them...it's Federal Law....EO, should only impact Federal laws anyway.

They can ignore them...California ignore immigration law.

What are the feds going to do---take OK to court for ignoring them?

The Feds can't force States to enforce Federal law. That's how States can ignore immigration law, and not work with the Feds.

Rep. Jay Steagall, R-Yukon, introduced a resolution for Oklahoma to assert its sovereignty under the 10th Amendment. The leader of the House's revived State's Rights Committee said regardless of the political party in power, the federal government has "really been off the rails for quite some time" in overstepping its authority.

I agree with the State of Oklahoma but isn't this how the civil war started "STATES RIGHTS"

It’s like nullification 2.0.

I suppose, but the issue was slavery.

No it was about states' rights, slavery was a secondary concern if it was a concern at all.

I am not gonna go down this rabbit hole, but it was all about slavery. The State's Right to own slaves

this isn't rocket science...it's called checks and balances, my friends!

Actually it's called Nullification, we did it in 1828/1832 and it led to the Civil War.

Nothing like being ignorant of one's own history. "Checks and balances" refers to the cross-checking branches of the federal government, not to states. Those branches, unless you're Senator Toober Pyle of Alafrickinbama, are the Legislative, Executive and Judicial. The latter is where the checks and balances live.

Actually the issue was tariffs. Specifically what they called the "Tariff of Abominations" out of the Quincy Adams administration. Slavery became the war issue much later.

Slavery was the excuse used to incite and inflame- it also allowed implementation of fiat currency and conscription-
