An "immense debit of gratitude" for a woman who merely flew a plane from point A to point B during WW2 and managed to reach the age of 92? It's pretty neat but hardly reaches the scale of "immense gratitude". The Brits must be heart up for a female hero these days.

The fact that women volunteered to fly in a time when their skies were filled with Germany bombers and fighters should draw some forum of gratitude. They freed up male pilots to actually fight to save their nation.
