NYT: 'For Biden, a Race Against Time'

And it could be too that Trump is right!

And yes of course Burisma's business with Hunter was complicity in the war planning of America under both Obama and Biden.

Trump can prove that if he's elected and he could bring the law down on all three of them!

And the Scotus will guarantee Trump 3 wins!

See now the reason why the establishment can't allow Trump to win the WH?
No I don’t see your connection

1. If its an "Open Convention" then I agree with you. But I don't see an open convention, Biden has all the delegates, especially if they do an early "virtual convention"
Open or closed, you have to agree either way. Kamala's poll numbers will be combined with Biden's poll numbers. Unless the polss allowed 'multiple choice'.
2. After the convention Harris is the official VP. If Joe then drops out, she names her new VP.
Rocket science for the mentally challenged!
3. Totally agree that Biden can't do another term. Thats why the democrats are sooooo fucked.
I wish it were so too, but I'm being realistic. I wonder if the Dem thinkers are seeing the same possibility of a slamdunk for Kamala.

All the answers are in Trump's remaining popularity. No he needs a big issue and the war can become the mother of all issues for him.

America's men aren't dying in Biden's war because he's fixed it that way.

But they and the women and children are becoming a risk that Trump can make work for him.

Right!

You don't understand and it's simple math. When/if Biden is out of it, Kamala gets her supporters and Biden's supporters too.

They're not the same people are they!

Get back to us when you start to get it!
Usually polls are not mutually exclusive. I can choose Biden in a Biden/Trump match up and choose Harris in a Harris/Trump match up.

With the exception of a few people who will switch to RFK if their preference is not the top of the ticket, they are the same people and none of them are going to vote for Trump.

I guess it is possible there are people who will not vote at all if Biden is the nominee, but will show up to vote if Kamala is the nominee, but enough to swing the entire election?

Think thus: The matter isn't between Biden and Kamala. It's become a matter of beating Trump now.

So just think of Kamala's poll numbers being combined with Biden's. If the choice between those two mattered, then you would be making a good point.

Trump needs something big now?

The war against Russia and MAD has huge potential, but it's risky.

Can Biden be replaced after the convention and, if so, how?

Yes, if Biden were to decide to drop out of the race after receiving the formal nomination at the Democratic convention, he could still be replaced on the Democratic ticket in November.

In that case, the 426 DNC members — who are elected in their states and include the state party chair and vice chair, as well as other prominent people in their state and party — would meet in a special session to choose a replacement nominee, Kamarck explained in a Jan. 3 post.

And, no, she wrote, “the nomination does not automatically extend to the vice-presidential candidate on the ballot.”

“The authority of the national parties to choose their nominee in the event the nominee can’t run comes as a surprise to many in this day of wall-to-wall primaries,” Kamarck wrote in September. “And yet, it is a reminder that the choice of a nominee is party business — not state law, not federal law, and not constitutional law.”

I'm not even sure Harris will be the VP nominee coming out of the convention. Usually it is the incumbent VP if one exists, but not necessarily. Whoever is on the democratic ticket as the VP will be the front-runner for the presidential nomination in 2028, and Harris might not be that person. There's no love lost between her and the Biden camp and if they think somebody else helps them defeat Trump more than she does then Harris will be out.

Trying to sidetrack the question can work for you too.

I don't believe that Harris automatically becomes the presidential nominee if Biden quits. Just because she is the VP now does not guarantee her place on the 2024 ticket, and she very well might not be on the ticket after the convention. She might be replaced by somebody else that the democrats would rather see in the Oval Office if they win in November. Cuz there's no way in Hill that Biden can serve another 4 years, I ain't seeing that.

Harris does, however, automatically become President if Sleepy Joe quits.

And it would be tough to diss any sitting President by rejecting them for nomination, especially if the said VP is a black chick in our racially charged times.

Biden hasn't seen this many journalists jump ship, since he vacationed on the Titanic.

1. If Biden drops out after the convention the state deadlines start closing the ballots. Ohio's is August 7th. VA's is early September, etc. So if Biden drops out after the convention, the DNC may be forced to keep Kamala because the ballots are closed.

2. If Biden drops Harris he loses black women voters.

I do not see Biden resigning from the presidency. He might step down from the nomination but I seriously doubt he'll leave office. BUT - the possibility exists for his incapacitation due to poor health, maybe a stroke or something. So, in that case Harris would assume the presidency, she cannot assume the nomination for her party's presidential candidacy. If that happens before the convention then it'll be a total free-for-all and IMHO her chances would be no better than anyone else's even if she is the incumbent prez. LOL, things could get a little wild.

If Biden leaves office after the convention is over and he is the nominee for prez, then Harris takes over as our president, but the DNC will decide who will replace Biden on the ticket and it might not be her. If she is the most likely person to beat Trump then she would likely be the replacement nominee but I wouldn't say that is cast in stone.
