The City of New York has agreed to pay more than $7 million to settle a federal lawsuit stemming from the death of Sean Bell, who was shot dead by the city police in 2006 on what would have been his wedding day. The money will be split between BellÂ’s family and two friends of Bell who were also shot by the police.
