We need staff in public places to protect the public. Fuards on trains and propleon platforms.
Toriies wanted rid of those people to ensure that they made more profit,
Gealth and safety of passengers was not factored in at any point. I wonder if that is still the position of the conservative party ?
I think that they should be asked that question.
Profit should not be the only motivation for a public service.

The scum will never admit they were wrong on cuts, they wanted the Guards gone and the ticket collectors gone and were warned by the Unions about the danger of doing that, the likes of the SUN and Mail never stop slagging off the rail Unions trying to show them as greedy extremists when in fact they just want to protect the rights fought for over many years, and agreements that the Management can't break when they feel like it, the rail workers have the best Unions and leaders like Eddy Dempsey and Mick Lynch before him who knew how to deal with the media and Tory filth.

Stations are lonely places. They need to be patrolled

Disagree. The boobies--yes, boobies--can't be everywhere. It's ridiculous that people must be so helpless and unarmed in the name of--well, in the name of what exactly?
