Like everything else in politics pardons can be abused.
At one point or another everything gets abused freedom, The second amendment, freedom of speech....

It's simply is an entropic fact of nature that a percentage of anything whether it be bad or good is going to have an unintended, partial malpurpose to it. It's probably unavoidable.

Is there a scandal taking place right now with the auto pen Revelations? Probably. How deep do we want to go with this? Does the president have the ability to delegate? Does he need to be awake and aware 24/7?
It's not possible is it?

Now maybe with the pardons One could say it should be an exception where the president is personally present and fully aware of what he's doing and who he's doing it for. But when pardons reach hundreds and thousands in number how can we possibly expect one man to know each individual case in detail?

I don't disagree that it was some dirty business but I'm not sure we can fix it without ruining the system altogether.

Once you let the genie out he often feels like he doesn't want to go back into that little bottle and it can be very damn hard to make him do it.

Well, no.

Every president uses them.

Only the most shamelessly corrupt partisan hacks claim that's some kind of scandal.

Needless to say, since Democrats aren't corrupt partisan hacks, they never made the claim.

I'm sorry. If we let this stuff slide, the Dems will only do worse the next time they're able to steal another election.

Nope. As Barney Fife always said.....NIP IT IN THE BUD!

Trump is just having another tantrum because his Jan 6 pardons have even raised gop eyebrows.

Well that's just tough fucking shit.

The only people that deserved being thrown in prison for 4 years on Jan 6th were the people planning to turn it into a riot, and pulling the trigger that murdered innocent protesters.
