All of the above. I was raised by pagans. My main criticism of paganism is that they worship backward primitive gods that cause them to behave like wild animals.

Talking about their names has become out of fashion in Germany, because the Nazis were interested in them.
But still one may know some names.

Some of those became our days of the week. For instance, Friday is really Frigg's Day, and Thursday is really Thor's Day.

But generally, the Gods were divided up into three categories:
  1. The Primordials.
  2. The Titans.
  3. The Olympians.
These Gods were basically mankind's vehicle for explaining the physical processes of the universe around them: earth, wind, sky, etc., until the advent of science. The maxim of science is that what goes on in heaven occures not by magic or supernatural, but by the same rules and forces as govern us here on Earth. Science replaced the gods with physical and scientific laws.

And Wednesday is the day of Wodan
And Tuesday is the day of Tiu

And Wednesday is the day of Wodan
And Tuesday is the day of Tiu

Yep. Woden's Day became Wednesday, and Tiu's Day became Tuesday.

And FWIW, Saturday is obviously really Saturn's Day.

There are some interesting comparisons between Thor with Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus.

For the moment this is perhaps the best quotation that I can quickly find that is generally related to this topic though:

13. Conclusion

Across cultures, religions, and time, the NDE encounter with the Council of Elders is one of the most profound and archetypal scenes of the afterlife. Often described as twelve beings of light, the Council is a divine group who guides the soul during the life review. These councils illuminate the purpose behind every thought, word, and action, allowing the soul to view its life from the perspective of love and universal law.

From Dannion Brinkley’s zodiacal beings to Betty Eadie’s council of twelve men, from Michael Newton’s regression-based councils to Black Elk’s six grandfathers representing the “Powers of the World,” these testimonies reveal an important message: humans are part of a vast, ordered, and benevolent cosmos. Each soul’s journey is reviewed through the divine principles of love and wisdom.

I'm familier with all but one from reading. I had to look Heimdall up after watch a marvel movie. lol

You may be familiar with D'Aulaires Book of Greek Myths, but they also published a book of Norse myths. I learned evrrything I know about Odin, Thor, Loki, and the rest of the Marvel-plagiarized Norse Gods here.
